really liked it
bookshelves: historical-fantasy, royalty-and-aristocracy

I enjoyed this very much! It's pure war and political intrigue, which I love and it's got very subversive, feminist-friendly elements. The reason why I'm not giving it five stars is because I don't know if I'll ever reread this. I loved the worldbuilding and the characters (the female characters in particular) but this installment felt very cold and ruthless. A bit too much suffering for me. It wasn't as cosy as the ones before, even the description of life once the fighting's over was incredibly short so I had trouble rebonding with the characters. Still, it was really good and a terrific ending to a great series.
