liked it

I tried reading this a few months ago and couldn't get into it, so when I started taking ten-mile walks each weekend, this is one I purchased on Audible. It was an interesting listen, quite poignant in places. I appreciate Coates' perspective, but I would have preferred to hear more voices. I would have liked to have heard from his wife, for example, or his mother. Or some of the friends he grew up with, to see if they shared his view of their childhood and the world they'd grown up in. Or from his son.

But that's often how I feel anymore when I read memoirs. One person's viewpoint just doesn't feel like enough. Which is probably why I tend to avoid memoirs these days.
