This is a thoughtful book which I imagine will provoke some interesting discussions. Suri is taller than the other children - different - and this makes for a lonely life. She and the children live behind a wall. What's on the other side of the wall? Why are the children living there? What does Suri find out? What stories does she choose to tell? Why do we tell stories? This was shortlisted for the Children's Book of the Year Awards and the Queensland Literary Awards. If you are looking for a book to tie in with themes of isolation, difference, detention or refugees, this might be just the ticket.
