Yeah! This is refreshing if for no other reason than the characters are strong Latinas. The author offers readers four personalities, though we generally see the world from Fiona's perspective.

Although the book is well written and the plot is solid, I found some of the events a little unsettling (given that the target audience starts with Seventh graders). The characters make bad choices (which we all do/did), but the outcomes are presented in a way that almost glorifies them (e.g., underage drinking, unsupervised parties with drugs).

Gaby Triana Thanks for the review! Just so you know, the publisher, not the author, is responsible for marketing it to 12 and up. My characters are 18, so I think the story should be judged based on 16-18-year-old readers. The publisher's labeling of target audience, I feel, shouldn't change your rating. It then looks like a reflection of the story, not the marketing! thanks again.
