Continuing the saga of Ari Thor, policeman to the sleepy town of Siglufjördur in Iceland. Though I have to say there seem to be a lot of killing for such a sleepy fishing village. Oh well.
The previous novel 'Snow Blind' saw him arrive and have a will he / won't he romance with a piano teacher. Seems like a no because now his wife and baby son have moved North to be with him and get in his way while he is investigating the murder of his senior officer. The action is good and well described, the plot a bit threadbare but ok and the resolution both closes this case and leaves poor Ari's emotions in a sufficiently raw state for the next book.
Not the best detective book in the world but certainly not the worst.
