The "Born In" trilogy was a set I had purchased awhile back when I was really thrilled with Nora Roberts. For awhile, I was reading her work and was unimpressed. This story has brought back the spark I once had for her stories.

What I liked about the story was the relationships between Maggie and Rogan, as well as Maggie and her Mom. They were complex and yet simple in their own way. Maggie was so focused on her fear of what passionate relationships could evolve into because of the baggage with her parents. Rogan was the remedy to this fear and her mother was the cause. I can identify with her fears and with the fix of finding someone who is so right that they put to rest the chunk of baggage from the past. I recommend this story for people who like a strong independent female character who succumbs to love, despite sordid family relationships.
