My favorite of the 3 Dickens I can remember having read (although I'm sure I must've read at least 2 or 3 more). A lawsuit that goes on forever. Written from 1852-53, Dickens already had a clear idea of what a mess lawyers cd make of the world. If only he cd see it now!

Tentatively, Convenience Considering what a great book this is it's a shame that I've only written this token tiny review. My excuse is that the review was written something like 40 years after I read the book, really just to add it to my list of books read here, & was quite possibly written while I was slumping off into a near-death state with pneumonia. I've just started to watch the lengthy BBC version of Bleak House now. So far, so good. It's full of typical Dickensian characters with innocence & Machiavellian menace intertwined.
