A cute kind of mystery set in rural Ogeechee Georgia with the main character, Trudy, a female police officer working under her cousin Henry who is Chief of Police. She is visiting friends one day at a construction site when a body is found in an old refrigerator. Trudy sets about solving this murder which occurred about 30 years ago. It is a light-weight mystery but it is deftly written, sweet in a nostalgic kind of way, and funny, making gentle fun of the rural south but never unkindly.
