This last novel in Elizabeth Chadwick's Eleanor of Aquitaine trilogy covers Eleanor's life from her time under house arrest to the end of her life. As Eleanor grew older, she seemed to only grow busier. She had to help her sons rule and to stop squabbling; she had grandchildren to look after, countries and territories to manage, a huge ransom to raise when her son Richard was imprisoned on the way back from The Crusades...

Chadwick certainly had a large number of events to cover in this last volume and it was a moving experience, though it felt a little choppy at times. Still, enjoyable.
