it was amazing
bookshelves: quilt-book-club, nonfiction

This book is a fascinating and foreboding view of this era, seen through the eyes of US Ambassador to Germany William E. Dodd and his family, who had little idea what they were getting into, as they arrived in Berlin in 1933. All the big players in Nazi Germany appear, as they consolidate their power and prepare for bigger things, like the conquest of the world.
