it was ok
bookshelves: depression

Pressed Down but Not Forgotten is a theological and psychological understanding of depression and anxiety. It is short (which is good), fairly concise, and does a nice job of showing that depression and anxiety can be physiological as well as spiritual or simply "mental". In that respect I found it very helpful.

What is frustrating is that the authors, a Lutheran pastor and a Lutheran psychiatrist, do not get the Gospel very well. They get everything about the cross, but there is no mention of baptism or the other sacraments at all. So while all of the data is there, a great deal of the comfort that can be given for those who are suffering is left to the imagination.

It's okay on diagnosis, but weak on the solution.
