it was amazing

This book turned out to be incredibly enlightening. It started out slow, the beginning went on about some nameless movement that wasn't a movement but was actually a movement anyway. Soon though it provided anecdotal evidence, clearly describing events involving Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., Columbus, Carson's Silent Spring... etc. and the effects these individuals and events had on one another. It was depressing to learn about the horrors of Christian missionaries destroying indigenous cultures and "civilized" people literally stealing the land from natives, but the sheer value of the information in this book makes it worth reading despite the bleak situations it reveals.
