A great kick-off to a new cozy mystery series, "a white house gardener mystery"!

Cassandra "Casey" Calhoun is a white house gardener with a PASSION for organic gardening. While working on her latest project, she is attacked from behind by an unknown assailant. Enter Secret Service Agent, Jack Turner. When she comes to, she notices some damaged foliage that leads her and the Secret Service to a dead woman in a trash can.

Needless to say that while the Secret Service, Park Police and DC Police lead their own investigations, Casey is doing a little amateur sleuthing of her own AND Jack Turner always seems to be there when he is most needed!

At the end of the book are a couple of gardening / growing tips -- think recipes for the gardener.

I'm looking forward to reading the next in this series!
