I did not expect to like this as much as I did. As much as I liked some of the Nerd series by VLT, others of that series were painfully, eyerollingly bad at times. So I picked it up to test out the first chapter, and had trouble putting it down. I ended up reading it in one 3-4 hour sitting. It establishes a compelling family of NYC-based werewolves, as well as showing glimpses of some of the other major cities' packs (to be featured in future books in the series). It had good romance within an interesting structure of revealing the werewolf world to Emma Gavin, writer of werewolf fiction (and nonbeliever).
