Strong characters, romance, fighting...this book has it all. With New York as a backdrop, you get to know the world that is totally hidden from Mundanes. I love the way the Mundane and Shadowhunter worlds mix together, yet exist so separately in many ways. Clary is an excellent female lead, with Isabelle being just as strong, which I always like to see. Simon is the typical best friend without being cliche and Jace....well, Jace is the stuff that YA readers dream about. The world that is slowly revealed through the story is engrossing. This is a book you wont want to put down.
