it doesn't happen often, but occasionally i find myself in a library, picking up a book that looks and seems interesting. perhaps it's a new author, or a book that was recommended by a friend, or a friend of a friend, and i decide to read it. i take it home and start reading, only to discover that i've read it before. this is usually bad for the book - it means that it's been forgettable or just plain bad.

in this case, i was a little disappointed that i had read it before. i kept trying to convince myself that i hadn't but i started remembering a lot of little things about it, and so i just had to admit that i had read it and dismissed it.

the book itself isn't bad, but it isn't great, either. there are a lot of stereotypes, a few cliches, and although i probably will read the next one, there's not really anything really positive that stands out about the book itself. there are a few negatives, mostly towards the end of the story. i found that as the story went on, i had a harder and harder time relating to the characters, and some of their actions seemed silly, unjustified or downright stupid. i realize it's JFic. i realize they're 16 year old girls, but some of the actions and dialogue just didn't make sense, even in their own context.
