it was ok
bookshelves: teen, adventure, fantasy, childrens-fiction, contemporary, british

All this hype about this being the next Harry Potter--I strongly disagree. Tedious and overlong, Tunnels could have used some heavy editing for plotlines that go through the motions of unnecessary action. With all of this, it didn't even get remotely interesting until page 200. The characters are unlikeable and evoke no sympathy. I won't be reading the sequels.
