it was amazing

This is the third Megan Abbott book I have read and it's another winner. The blurb on the book says 'Richly atmospheric,' and I have to agree. Her descriptions of not only place but people and emotions are vivid, evocative and original and I love being transported back into the 1950s behind the scenes of Hollywood glamour.

The story is told from the point of view of smooth-talking Hollywood publicist 'Hop' as he is drawn into the mystery of the disappearance of starlet Jean Spangler. The characters are all well drawn and believable and the story is engrossing, with a couple of unexpected twists.
