it was amazing
bookshelves: boy-friendly
Recommended for: Kids AND grownups!

I'm not at all surprised that this was a Newbery Honor book for 2007. It gives us a very unique perspective on what life was like for the slaves and former slaves. I hope there will be an audio version of this book someday, as that would be an even better way to experience it. (I have found that to be the case with Curtis' other books.)
