Doug's Reviews > Shortcut Man
This crime novel is by the son of filmmaker Preston Sturges -- and it has some of the same madcap and do-good qualities of Sturges's films. It's got snappy language, Los Angeles color, and an amusing protagonist (named Dick Henry). Occasionally the book delves too far (in sudden third person) into secondary characters, and the plot isn't super twisty. Still, I enjoyed it.
