The Little Prince

I just re-read this book (for the umpteenth time) after watching the new animated film. The film has a certain magic, but it's nothing compared to the beauty and sorrow of the book. That ending makes me cry every time, because it locks into something in the human soul, a great sense of longing for the 'home' that has little to do with where we live or grew up. We want to know love, to accept loss, even of ourselves, knowing it is not really loss at all, but a return. As Sojourner Truth said, "I'm not going to die, I'm going home like a shooting star."
