really liked it
bookshelves: teen-books, audio

Well, Shusterman is turning out to be one of my favorite authors. Of course, this wasn't as good as Unwind, but it was also totally different so you can't really compare. I liked the way the supernatural element was integrated into this realistic story, and the questions that introduced topics like selfishness and addiction and honor. I very much enjoyed the different voices in this, and I was genuinely worried about Brewster for probably 3/4 of the book. Because you know a situation like that is not going to end well. And the ending was ever so slightly cheesy, but, on the whole, the best choice he could have made given the circumstances. A good discussion book for teens.
