I received this book in my goody bag at Harrogate. With intriguing, left-of-the-middle characterisation and a compellingly visual storyworld, it's easy to see why so-called 'ScandiNoir' is taking the world by storm. Literary-style prose is partnered with authentic characters that grip you from the first page. I was taken into the mindsets of all three: Hanne, Peter and Emma present worldviews not normally seen in such 3D ways in crime fiction; they're staggeringly well drawn, especially Peter. Whilst plot-wise I guessed the twist, it was set up and paid off so well I can't grumble (besides, I am a script editor for thriller movies so have an unfair advantage, I do this as my day job!!). A brilliant debut I can wholeheartedly recommend and I will definitelyread more from Grebe.
