Have you seen the movie? Obviously the book tells more of the story, but I was super impressed with the film being able to avoid cliches and tell a rich story, so far my fave movie of the year.

Looking forward to both! I am intrigued to find where Ameera found the story "harsh", and still loving it. I'd love to be around the author's table when her father-in-law visits - the major talent and social justice artist, Robert Shetterly, who describes the oil paintings he did here: Americans Who Tell the Truth and you can check out the set of paintings on his website https://www.americanswhotellthetruth..... The family is from Maine, and he's exhibited his work at my college. I'm trying to get Margot Lee to come speak when she's visiting. :-)
