Niki Mclaren's Reviews > The Uninvited
I had very low expectations for this book as I had heard nothing but bad things about it from friends, so it gets three stars for being better than I thought it would be. The Uninvited is about a young female from NYC who gets into a spot of trouble with a older, married professor from her university and decides to go stay at her fathers cabin in Ontario. Upon arriving, she finds out that she has a half brother she never knew about, who accuses her of leaving behind creepy items as well as stealing from him. Half thriller, half family drama, this book had me turning page after page to find out what was going to happen next. And while it kept me enthralled, there was a little too much "brotherly love" for me to stomach. Furthermore,I had the whole thing figured out way too soon and I found that everything was wrapped up a little too nicely, all things considered. If you are looking into reading this book I realize my review does not help in the slightest SO I would suggest reading it despite all the nasty things I said.
