*I received a copy of this book for free in exchange for an honest review.*
"Oh no, yet another Katniss/Triss somewhat dystopian feminist YA novel?" After 20 pages I was rolling my eyes so hard it hurt. And then everything changed for the better.
This novel turned out to be something completely different, in a 100% good way. Trolls, aliens, knights, oh my! "Petrified" has an interesting plot, vivid imagery, and it was quite funny, too. The Harry Klein bit made me guffaw. I ended up spending my entire Sunday morning and afternoon with this book instead of cleaning the house. So not complaining.
My reasons for not giving this book five stars: some spell check errors, a couple of redundancies (but what book hasn't got any of those?), and "the ending after the ending" (no spoilers!). I guess that part became too YA for me.
Anyways, I hope we get to meet the characters again!
