I read this one for book club and have to confess it was a very quick page turner, but I'm not so sure the author couldn't have done a better job with the plot and characterization. It's the story of a high school coach who gets accused of raping one of his students. The story starts there and twists and turns and just has a lot of coincidences that in the end didn't sound plausible. Having said that, there was just a case of a lacrosse team at Duke University caught in a similar situation - accused of gang raping a stripper - whose lives were ruined, absolutely ruined, and the case was not only later dismissed but the prosecuting attorney brought to trial for pushing a case when he knew the evidence pointed away from these kids. So that's what I thought about while reading this book (published before the Duke case), and with that in mind, the scenarios painted in this book started to seem a lot more plausible.
