I loved this book and hated to see it end. It's the story of a young lady, Taylor, who sets off to liberate herself from the confines of her small town in Kentucky, is handed a baby with major abuse issues and overwhelmed and a bit spaced out arrives in Arizona with two flat tires and stays. The author doesn't transform Taylor into the perfect mother, doesn't miraculously turn the baby into a healthy little girl and doesn't solve anyone's problems. But she does point out that it takes a village, a community of family and friends to get through life, that no matter what life throws at you, it'll be easier to get through it with the help of close relationships. I especially loved the secondary (or maybe not so secondary story) of Esteban and Esperanza, which I found very meaningful.
