Diana This epic novel is obviously written by a gifted man--he just needed a good editor! I thoroughly enjoyed the middle section of the book--a story that takes place at a hospital in Ethiopia, run by Indian doctors. But the laborious beginning of the book...and the unbelievable ending of the book--set in NYC, where every loose end gets tied up in a Dickens-like way, and medical scenes have no credibility--made me lower my opinion of the book. Still worth a read, though, for some of the lovely characters.
