I think this is my favorite in the series. Running out of places to send the children, they are sent to a boarding school called "The Austere Academy". They are forced to live in the "orphan's shack" which is overrun by vicious little crabs (but being the clever children they are, they figure out how to keep the crabs at bay). Sunny, the baby, is forced to be the administrative assistant to the headmaster while Klaus and Violet attend classes. All three are forced to run all night long by Coach Ghengis...who of course is Count Olaf in disguise. This is the one where I really started being hooked into the bigger mystery when the children meet two of three triplets (the Quagmires) whose family was also killed in a mysterious fire. This children start to hear more about a mysterious group called VFD, and the Quagmires give them some clues to start their investigation into VFD.
