it was amazing
bookshelves: 2016

This is story about how Jem got his arm broken, told from the perspectives of his little sister, Scout. At least that is what I thought from its first few sentences.

Choosing to narrate the story from the eye of a little girl makes the book really fascinating. We see the naivety and innocence that only children have while facing new issues and situations. Some stuffs escapes the narrator's understanding, but we understand it just fine and it offers a new perspective too.

The multitudes of characters are also interesting. Some of them, when they first appears, are dislikable. As the story flows, I understand more about them and what motivates them. An example, Aunt Alexandra. Some are likable and endearing from the start such as Scout and her immediate family. Other characters have their own surprises such as Boo Radley. Ah, I can say I almost all of the main characters.
