really liked it

XVI is a haunting look at a society in a future that could very well be our future. Girls are only safe until they turn 16 - after that they are fair game. They are bombarded with propaganda at all times to get them to not only accept it, but welcome it. There is never a moment of silence - there are ads blaring on the street, in your home, in your ear to get you to think the way the government does. Nina is different from her friends - she doesn't want the life she is being groomed for. She'll do anything to find a way out - but will she end up losing her life? This is Karr's first novel and I look forward to seeing more of her work!
