Penelope is a high end movie company and personal caterer to a star – Arlena.
Searching for Arlena’s missing dog one evening they find a dead girl in the snow, outside Arlena’s house.
Then Arlena finds that her script for the next day’s shooting has been changed without notice overnight. But the script changes are phony. Why?
A series of ‘accidents’ begin to happen around Arlena and the movie, and during the investigation Penelope encounters an old school chum who is now a hot detective.
Clearly someone is trying to shut down the movie – but who and why? And who is the dead girl? And why is dead?
This is the basic story-line for this first book in the series about Penelope and her catering company – Red Carpet Catering.
As a result of the story being centred around a catering company we have lots of descriptions of luscious foods – don’t therefore read when hungry!
This a cozy mystery with a very specific and glamorous setting – Hollywood. This makes a good change from reading about cafes, muffins and cupcakes.
Nice twist to the ending makes this a 3.5.
ARC honest review for Henery Press via NetGalley.
