bookshelves: contemporary, murder-she-wrote, romantic-suspense, small-town, summer

Working in a library you notice the authors who write a lot of books. And you become intrigued by these authors with such enormous catalogs. So, while shelving I come across a LOT of Nora Roberts. Being a romance fan, you hear her name come up quite a bit. So I've taken to trying the ones whose blurbs catch my attention, and this one about a couple of hot tempered archaeologists finding themselves in a town exxploding with secrets starring their head excavator, Callie, the sort of girl with a salty mouth and mean right hook and delicious ex-husband was intriguing and it fit the bill. I like that Nora creates heavy, interesting characters without skimping on the suspense, mystery or (gasp) romance. These are full stories with dysfunctional families who love and make so many mistakes and the drunks, liars, murderers, and heroes amongst them. I always feel complete and entertained when finishing her books, and that's all I ask as a reader.
