really liked it
bookshelves: manga

I wasn't sure what I'd think of this series, but it got good reviews, so I thought I'd try it. (Plus it has a shiny cover. Shiny covers are always good. :)) So far, I'm impressed with the story of alchemist brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric. Big brother Ed is much smaller than little brother Al, who is forced to wear a giant metal suit due to an alchemy accident. Ed is also a military officer, which makes him not very popular with the citizenry. Even so (and their cracks about "shrimp" and "midget" notwithstanding), Ed fights on the Side of Good in several loosely connected stories in this volume. I love the art, and the funny bits are very funny.
