it was amazing

Just finished reading Quantum by Jess Anastasi...I'm exhausted. OK, yes, it's 3 am and I couldn't stop when I was so close to the end...okay, so maybe I was all that very close, but hey, end was in sight and I needed to get there...

Freckin' A! I'm tired because there was so much action in this book and I feel like I was right there going through most of it With Zander and Mae! Yes, those are the hero and heroine of this novel, not the couple I expected would be in book 2 because I thought this would follow the crew of the Imogenna. While I did not think we'd be getting Rian's story this soon, and Zahlia and Tannen's story has already been told, there are other crew that I thought would be the next focus. I do NOT mind being wrong! We did meet Zander and Mae in Atrophy, so it's not like they are totally unknown, and it was rather nice getting to know more about each of them. Zander kinda reminded me a lot of Phillip Gutherie from Linnea Sinclair'e Hope's Folly, so I really did not mind getting to know him better at all! Mae is a strong character that definitely knows how to fend for herself, and that sort of character is always good to read! There were so many times Zander and Mae didn't know whom to trust -- including each other -- a lot of assassination attempts and nearly impossible odds to overcome that I almost felt like I was in a Battlestar Galactica episode (the newer series). The romance and the 'intimate moments' did seem a little more than we saw in Atrophy, but they compliment the story, not take any focus away from the main action plot. We also see a LOT more of Rian in this novel, and that man just continues to intrigue -- can't wait to see how his character developes in each book until his own story, but I can already tell, it's going to be good. OK, off to sleep now...ok, probably off to lie in bed and have the story replay through my head, but nope, don't mind that at all!

Note: this was an ARC, so don't say anything about me posting a review before the book was released, lol!
