Donna Radcliff's Reviews > Embassytown
First off, pure science fiction is not my medium. I have great difficulty with abstract ideas (I was 45 before I passed algebra). I have never read anything more abstract than this in my life. I understood certain things about it, like the power of language and communication and how everything is lost without. And certain parts of the story were intriguing. I tried just to read the Latterly chapters, but that got me nowhere. I skipped to the end and was still lost. Maybe I'm a simile for the whole story, like Avice. Tomorrow's BookClub will be very interesting.
