If you are a bibliophile, if you love libraries or ancient history, if you are drawn to warm and comforting homes, families, or foods - then you need to read this book. If you happen to love all of those things, then this book is a short trip to a very happy place. The protagonist is a librarian with a background in archaeology and her time is split between the two pursuits. So you get information about the inner workings of running a library and also about archaeological research. I loved this entire cast of characters and the multi-cultural home of Elizabeth Pimms and her family. They are each equally intriguing and you can see that they all have their own stories to tell. The descriptions of their foods from different places and cultures and their times of sharing meals was delightful (complete with recipes included in the back of the book!) This is definitely a world that I will want to return to again and again. I'm looking forward to the next installment of Dr. Pimms story. I truly loved this book.
