it was ok
bookshelves: 2-star, 2011, rrrrromance-novels
Read from May 25 to 26, 2011

Terrible, terrible, terrible. Full of time-period-improbable events, characters acting out of character, loving relationships springing up from figurative mud, "impressive horsewomen" who ride about for half the book but not very well -- et cetera. SUPER ANNOYING.
And it's badly written. It's so bad. I was reading this aloud to S and she made me stop reading which never happens but did in this case because this book is just so bad.

Although it does have this marvelous quip -- Sylvester says it to Phoebe -- Will you let me mount you while you are in town?"
AHAHAH okay.

skein Except everyone loves it apparently so I'm afraid I'll be excommunicated from GoodReads and all my imaginary friends will leave, OH NO!

skein more moderate review: Not that terrible, but overwrought and so very much Not My Thing.

skein addition to moderate review: the humor, yes, it is there, but mostly was HUMOR FAIL and that made me damn damn irritated.
