I almost didn’t pick up this book, as the title was a bit… unfortunate. But I’m so glad I ended up reading it anyway! In this quick novella, Cox was able to create two characters that I loved - even though they were flawed and each had their own secrets to keep.

Once the two characters meet, it’s insta-heat from that moment on. While Phoenix is committed to stealing Lucas’s jewels, he does have a few moments of pause… only for life to put up some obstacles. Together, Lucas and Phoenix make a great match - I would have loved for this to be a longer story to learn more about the characters, but overall, this wasn’t a surface-level only story. The backstories for both characters were unique and had depth, and the overall story was a fun one to read.

This is a great read for anyone looking for a quick read with crazy hot sex, and imperfect main characters searching for their HEA.
