A Month of Sundays
I like Ruth White's writing style, but this book was way over the top: child abandoned by dad before birth, left by mom with relatives she's never met, aunt has cancer, religious exploration, dad returns to reveal he never knew he had a daughter, mother returns for awkward reunion with dad and daughter, first love has to move unexpectedly, then (view spoiler)[first love dies in car crash (hide spoiler)] I KID YOU NOT. Really the rest of it could have been forgiven if not for that last one. All in 160 pages. It was far too much.
