it was amazing
bookshelves: catholic

Wow - I really loved this book. I read it completely on a plane ride and I'm glad I read it cover to cover because I think it was more powerful that way for me. The whiskey priest is so real...who among us is not so flawed, so questionning? Yet, he remains faithful to what God has asked of him. The Lieutenant is so rigid in his form of faith - bitterness. I found this book to be uplifting, even in its sadness and desolation. Life is very hard, but faith can survive, persist despite the ugliness of this world.
