So funny to read this at the same time as watching the TV series "The Event" since they have a few things in common. Guess we will never know what happens in Event.
Willing suspension of disbelief required here, because while some thing falling apart quickly make sense, others continuing on non-interupted do not. But it is a YA novel, so can't blame it to much for focusing on the youth point of view.
In this future, the event takes place and people panic, but things seem to fall apart too quickly, with retail stores and farmers just quitting after one day. But the library stays open? And I sadly think things would be more violent after resources become so scarce.
Need to move onto the second part of the trilogy to see what happens next.
