** spoiler alert ** I always like the Lucas Davenport books and this one was no exception.Lucas has his hands full in this one, what with an upcoming wedding and pregnant fiancee, Lucas gets involved in a case that brings him back to an old foe -Clara Rinker. Lucas helps out and as usual does all the work other people and agencies should have been able to solve themselves-but seeing as Davenport has a "history" with Clara he is able to get into Clara's mindset and try to stop her before she murders some more innocent/not so innocent people.Retired hit woman Clara Rinker has been spending her days in Mexico with a druglord's son named Paulo. If Clara can ever "really" love someone-then Paulo and her unborn baby are it.A shooting at a restaurant in Mexico opens the book, with action and suspense throughout. You don't have to have read Sandford's previous Davenport books to enjoy this one.I always like Sandford's action packed and fast paced style and this book is no exception.
