I couldn't put it down! It has adventure, mystery, and even a little romance. Mortal Engines takes place far into the future after what they call the "Sixty Minute War," which was pretty much apocoliptic thanks to all the nuclear weapons that were used. Now nearly everyone lives in moving cities that travel around the world and attack the smaller cities. Tom Natsworthy lives in a mighty city called London, and, although he's happy training to be a historian, longs for adventure. He finally gets it the day he meets his idol, Valentine, and his idol's would-be murderer, Hester Shaw.
