Oh, Morgan.

I think this book frustrated me in that it was more of a transition into the meat of the actual intended direction of the series. But while there was a lot happening to set up the next part, I felt like nothing actually happened in this book. It was like... lead up, lead up, lead up, and mystery, mystery, mystery and suddenly the mystery was solved and the big ending battle was, well, rather pathetic. While it would have been visually pleasing if it were on the big screen, I was bored reading it. Toss into a wall here, awesome ninja landing there, another toss into a wall for good measure...

and then WHAM. Let's throw in some BDSM for the fun of it.

My own aversion to the BDSM particles of this series has to do with personal issues--my own much akin to Morgan's inability to trust and to open up emotionally on top of the actual BDSM aspect--but even I could see the merit in the ending of the book in relation to the growth of the character.

And every time I see Dom, I love him more and more.

This isn't really much of a review and I recognize that. Morgan Kingsley is kick-ass. But I was bored with the book in general even while enjoying the transition.
