Drew's Reviews > Desolation Angels
Probably my favorite of the Kerouac I've read up to this point. Maybe it was because I knew better, this time around, who the old Beats were and what they were about so I had a better context for what was going on. But more so, I think, it was because it was a deeper look at the human aspects of some of the characters. My favorite section was in the final chapter when Kerouac is talking about living with his mother. I was picturing Jack and his mom walking through the streets of Mexico and the image of her in a place she didn't belong, with her son who was to become an icon. It was a beautiful scene.
