really liked it
bookshelves: non-fiction, art, autobiography-biography

How can we help but be reassured by the story of an indomitable artist who really only found her calling when she was 72. This biography also explains the author's connection with the artist. The author's poetic language comes through a great deal in describing the works of collage, sometimes to great effect, sometimes a bit excessively. I suspect that to be a matter of taste only, however. The language is at any rate engaging throughout as is the story.
