it was amazing
bookshelves: science-fiction, fiction

This story was very engaging and mysterious. Right from the start the action is tense, as what little routine the Secha has come to know is broken by the unexpected detachment and drifting of her space-room prison. Where is she going? Neither she nor the reader knows at first. But as her mood involuntarily drifts between nostalgia and anxiety with her procession of unsettling thoughts, we gradually learn about her past and the two species whose worlds she is caught between. Especially awesome was the contrast between the cold-mechanized outer-spatial environment her captors have forced her into and the fragile uncertainty which dominates her consciousness.

Dawn Trowell Jones is definitely an author with a unique and powerful writing style and I am very much looking forward to her upcoming works.
