it was ok
bookshelves: early-reviewers, swapped-donated

My first instinct was to put this book down. It's about a selfish psychoanalyst who can't stop thinking about and pursuing sex. He seduces patients and he seduces strangers. He's married, neglects his wife, and enjoys dropping clues of his infidelity. He has a "different" philosophy when it comes to treating patients and troubles in his own life.

There isn't much of a storyline and I couldn't stand the main character. He wasn't even creepy or disturbing as I expected, just selfish. Yes, he did not have a happy childhood, but I have a hard time having any sympathy or even vaguely positive feeling for him at all.

I'm sure that there is a deeper, more artistic story that the author is trying to convey, but I am just not that kind of reader.
